Happy 4th of July from Nantucket MA.

Here is the story of the battle of the fire hoses, and how it all started!

There are 2 fire brigades on Nantucket one day , as the story goes a fire broke out in to and both fire out in town. Each brigade responded claiming it to be in their districts.  Each of the fire stations began working to put the fire out. Once the fire was out, each brigade claimed the glory for putting out the fire. Neither one of the fire brigades have backed down. So on the 4th of July each fire truck makes its way down Main Street reenacting  the event of the fire. As each truck gets closer and closer to they begin to  spraying water at each other. Until they are they within feet of each other. It is then that they begin to  spray the water on the people in the crowd. This has been a tradition for years her on Nantucket with people spraying each other with water pistols to join in the fun.

Happy 4th of July!
